Bring in Spring!

Hello Beautiful! Happy 2014!

I haven't been as active on My blogspot in a while, but I've been posting like CRAZY on My instagram ! So if you haven't done so already, follow me on instagram today and keep up with My OOTD's!
Instagram name - 242blqrze

So Spring is quickly approaching and I've kicked start the season with My spring time Fashion!

Earlier this month I attended a church convention, and even when worshipping you can be stylish! I used one of the 2014 spring fashion season's biggest trends, Shift Dresses, and a little color play to create My outfit of the day!

Here's what I wore:

Mustard Yellow Shift Dress - Sheinside.com

Sophia (Gold Toe Nude Pumps) - ShoeDazzle.com <== Click here

Turquoise Chandelier Earring - Bought Locally

After the drab monochromatic and dark colors of Fall and Winter, Spring is the time to add color to a New Year and your life! Spring is also the time to keep a little sophistication to your style until the casual Summer days arrive!

In this look I paired 3 different bold colors together: Mustard Yellow, Turquoise and Purple (lipstick). I neutralize the color blend with my nude shoes and clear clutch, and the gold accent just tied everything together! This shift dress, although short and the hem is zig zagged, has a subtle sophistication to it and closed in pumps always say "sophisticated!" The church convention was on a Saturday, and I think the style, length and color palette of this dress was perfect for Saturday worship and it was simple, sophisticated and didn't take away from Sunday's best!

I hope this look inspires your next outfit! Remember, "always dress to express yourself."

OOTD: MIX, DON'T Match!

Hello Beautiful!!

I've been inspired by the creativity and braveness of a few of My Fashion Icons, as they mix all kinds of colors, materials, prints and texture into one STYLISH CLASH of an outfit!

Some looks are not for everyday wear, but there are those occasion where You can mix it up a little bit to turn heads.

This past weekend I attended the Bijoux BAHAMIAN Hair Battle and Showcase. And with so much BOLD, CRAZY, CREATIVITY filling the room, I felt right at home in a MIXED UP outfit!

Here's what I wore:

Denim Sleeveless Top - DD's Discount

Faux Leather Skater Skirt - Forever 21

Michael Antonio Snake Print Metallic Heels

Neon Yellow Satchel/Clutch - Target

Michael Kors Watch - Gold

Gold Clasp Bracelet

Black & Gold Ring

Black, Gold and Pearl Statement Necklace.

Full Outfit

The Mix of this outfit is so bold and hardcore, that if I wasn't wearing a skirt and heels I could've passed for a cowboy! This shows Me that I'm becoming bolder with My fashion and style. And sometimes you just have to push that envelope...

Although I'm rocking denim, leather and snake skin, I softened the outfit and made it sexy with a sleeveless top, short skirt and heels. Also, every piece of clothing is neutral and allows me to play with the other. Think about it, you can where denim with almost anything, leather with almost anything and animal prints with almost anything as they also serve as a neutral. I accessorized with gold to balance out the metallic in my shoes, with pearls for femininity, and with this neon bag for a pop of color and reminder that its still spring and soon summer!

I hope this look inspires your next outfit! Remember, "always dress to express yourself."

OOTN: SPRING NIGHTS, in BLENDED LIGHTS!

Hello Beautiful...

My FAVORITE fashion trend of Color Blocking is always in style! So it's my "go to" trend when I'm putting together an outfit for Myself.

This weekend I had a light evening out, attending a small Cultural Expo and taking a stroll through Marina Village on Paradise Island, Bahamas.
I wanted to wear something light and casual, spring colored, but still dressed up enough to make a statement! I knew just the colors I wanted to blend together and just the accessories to make my outfit POP!

Here's what I wore...

Coral Billowy Blouse - Charolette Russe

Purple Straight-Leg Jeans

Nude Ankle Strap Sandals - Urbanog.com

Brown & Mint Green Clutch

Accessories:

3 Chain Gold Link Necklace

Mint Green & Gold Clip On Earrings

Coral & Gold Pendant Ring

Full Outfit:

With this outfit I made Spring a little bolder and louder! Mixing the pastels and neutral with the dark purple gave this look dimensions, but you almost don't even realize that nothing is the same color except my earrings and clutch. This look is a prime example of how colors and accessories could give your outfit so much LIFE! All the pieces in this outfit (shirt, pants, shoes and accessories) are basic and not too over-the-top. Casual chic!

Coloring blocking makes it easy for you to create an outfit. You don't need none of your pieces to match, you just need the colors to compliment each other! Don't throw anything together and call it color blocking. Build a color scheme or consult the color wheel when attempting this trend. For example, I could've worn 3 shades of one color in a color family (color scheme) or mix red, yellow and blue and color block with the primary colors according to the color wheel!

I hope this look inspires your next outfit! Remember, "always dress to express yourself."

OOTD: SPRING BRIGHTS, SPRINTS AND STRIDES!

Hey Beautiful!!!

This Easter weekend the 2013 Carifta Games were hosted in my hometown, Nassau, Bahamas. We hosted competing countries throughout the Caribbean for 4 days. However I only attended 1 day, which was the last day, and the final events.

I had a blast!! And it was a beautiful thing to see my country and all the other countries represent for their hometown by waving flags, blowing whistles and cheering their athletes on!

Due to the Spring season, and the festivities I wanted to be cute, colorful and comfortable. I also wanted to bust out my PINK Hermes Birkin inspired handbag.

Here is what I wore:

Neon Yellow Blazer

Embellished Black & White Graphic Tee

High Waist Jeans Shorts

#vintagepiece! These are GAP jeans and they're actually hand-me down's from my cousin Nakara! (Hey Cuz!) I can't even tell you how old these jeans are, but they still make for a good fashion piece. I never threw these away for 2 reasons: They're classic, vintage, and versatile to style! And two, they're a keepsake since my cousin no longer lives in the Bahamas with me. :(

Black Spiked Flats

Metal & Spiked Accessories

Pink Hermes Birkin Inspired Bag

Watch My SPRING HAUL VIDEO featuring this bag!

Full Outfit:

Its Spring, so I wanted to add pops of color to my outfit with my neon yellow blazer and hot pink bag. Meanwhile, I didn't want to look overdress as it was a casual, fun, sporting event. So I simplified the outfit with jeans shorts and a graphic tee.

Simple basic clothing are always a good canvas for accent pieces and accessories. Black and white is easy to dress Up or Down. So is jeans, blazers, and flats. All of which are in this outfit. Just imagine trying to dress down a printed peplum top or tiered and textured skirt. It just wont work!

I hope this look inspires your next outfit! Remember, "always dress to express yourself."

*|SPRING/SUMMER|* Fashion Trends!!

Hello Beautiful!

Spring is almost over and the hot Summer is HERE! So what are you wearing for the seasons? Are you keeping up with the latest trends and making them your own? Do you even know what are the latest trends or whats in for the season?

Well I'm here to tell You!! I have 7 trends from the Spring and for the Summer, that You can add to your wardrobe!

1. "Green Tea Please"

Mint Green is THE Color of the Season!

And the BEST thing about this cool hue is that it matches any skin tone!

Are you afraid of wearing color? Mint green is an excellent way to start! Just add white, other pastels or neutrals to your outfit to compliment the Mint Green... and you're good to GO GREEN!

2. Think BOLD: Be the BRIGHT Idea!

Neon colors are brighter than the summer sun this season!

Bold colors such as Neon Yellow, Electric Blue, and Hot Pink really brighten a plain outfit or makes a bold statement in a busy outfit!

These colors are great for another trend: Color Blocking!

3. Catch the Sun in Your Knits

Crochet is BACK! The sun is HOT and You should be too!

Crochet is a cool material with a casual beachy look that is great for the summer.
You don't have to feel hot, whiles looking HOT!

Grab a few crochet pieces or make you own!

4. LACE is in the Place!

Bring out the Sexy in Spring! Add Lace to Your look! It doesn't have to be just Bunnies and Flowers!

Just the look of Lace makes you think of Romance, Seduction and Femininity!

Don't think of Old Hollywood Glam... just think of GLAM! Even in black this trend is appropriate for spring because of its whimsical, sheer, overlay design.

If you're going to try this trends this season, DO NOT skimp on it! Lace it Up!

5. Busy Body... "All Over the Place!"

AZTEC, ANIMAL, FLORAL, GEOMETRIC, PAISLEY!

Busy your outfit with one of the seasons funner trends, Prints! You have so many prints to chose from and you can find them in any piece of clothing or accessories.

Feeling foxy... grab an animal print!
Feeling tribal... go for aztec!
Feeling girly... get a floral piece!

6. Cooling It!

Do some Spring cleaning and take the Pastels trend with You to cool down the Summer sun!!

With so many colors to chose from such as peppermint, lilac, peach, soft yellow and sky blue... you can make multiple outfits by mixing and matching your pieces.
Are you scared of adding color to your wardrobe? Well this where you begin!

Soft, light, cool colors that will easily compliment any skin tone and any piece of clothing, shoes, or accessories!

7. The NEW Chic!

Its NOT the shirt, skirt, or dress with the frill at the top or middle. Its called PEPLUM! Thats the style of the piece and one of the hottest trends of the season!

Peplum designed clothing celebrate a female's silhouette and believe it or not flatters every size and figure once worn right!

The DRESS was a SUCCESS!!

Hello Beautiful!

Today one of the few LOVES of My Life graduated High School and I'm so Proud of My LilBig Brother! My family and I cheered, clapped and took a lot of pictures at his ceremony. No doubt he felt the love, support and pride we felt for Him because he stayed focus and graduated high school!

Here's a Pic of Us Together!

Not that I needed a reason to SHOP...lol... but I saw it the perfect opportunity to go out and look for a dress for his graduation ceremony. I ended up buying not one but two dresses that I recently recorded in my first haul video.

See video here --> 1st Mini Haul

However, I went with my first choice! The Floral Tube Top dress!! I considered several factors before I made my final decision. The present fashion season(Spring/Summer), the time of the event(Morning) and the weather condition(Sunny, Humid, and HOT AS HELL)!

Because we're slowly transitioning from Spring into Summer fashion season I opted for the pastel, neutral colors of this dress. Because the event was in the morning I preferred a chic casual but still stylishly dressed outfit. Because the temperature was hot and the air was humid I wanted my clothing to be light-weight with not to much fabric so that I can beat the heat!

Once I had made a decision on which dress to wear I began putting together an outfit...

What I wore:

Clothes:
Floral Tube Top Dress
Avenue XXI
Size S
Price: $60(original) $30(on sale)

Shoes:
Generation Alyssa Gold Sandals (its actually more of a neutral tone)
Shoe Depot
Size 6
Price: -

Accessories:
Pearl, White, and Gold Bead Cluster Ring
Bijoux Terner
Price: $10.00

Sparkle Drop Linear Earrings -Goldtone
Avon
Price: -

My choice of dress was a success today... I was fashionably in season, appropriately dressed, and didn't break a sweat!
