3 Ways to Style a Floral Skirt!

Hello Beautiful!! It's been a minute, and I've missed You!

This week's Monday was my 24th b-day, and as I styled my outfit of the day, it HIT me that the skirt I chose to wear, I had worn twice before and one of the times was for my 22nd b-day! I'm all about recycling clothes these days. So here's 3 ways I styled this floral skirt...

Club Life!

The first time I wore this floral skirt I paired it with a black corset top and black pumps for a grown and sexy look in the club. I accessorized the outift with gold and pearl accessories for a touch of sophistication and to make the outfit more formal.

You can create the same look by pairing a floral skirt with a lace crop top or sequins bustier. In that case keep your accessories simple and shoes simple.

Busy Body!

The second time I wore this skirt was for a photo shoot for Eyecon Bahamas Celebrity Minx Nails with photographer Andrew L. Newton. For this look I paired the floral skirt with a gold studded black tee and a black faux leather trimmed jeans jacket. I wore my Jeffrey Campbell inspired heeless wedges and simple gold accessories with a black clutch.

You can recreate this look by pairing your floral skirt with a blazer, and leggings or stalking during the Fall/Winter season or even for Work! Just swap the wedges for a pair of Mary Jane pumps.

Casual Mix!

The third I wore this skirt I paired it with a striped racer back tee and gold and black ankle sandals. I accessorized with a gold chain link necklace set with neon pink details. I mixed prints for this casual look.  For a better view of my necklace set ==> CLICK HERE!

You can recreate this look by pairing the floral skirt with a polka dot shirt and peep toe flats.

I hope this look inspires your next outfit! Remember, "always dress to express yourself."

OOTD: MIX, DON'T Match!

Hello Beautiful!!

I've been inspired by the creativity and braveness of a few of My Fashion Icons, as they mix all kinds of colors, materials, prints and texture into one STYLISH CLASH of an outfit!

Some looks are not for everyday wear, but there are those occasion where You can mix it up a little bit to turn heads.

This past weekend I attended the Bijoux BAHAMIAN Hair Battle and Showcase. And with so much BOLD, CRAZY, CREATIVITY filling the room, I felt right at home in a MIXED UP outfit!

Here's what I wore:

Denim Sleeveless Top - DD's Discount

Faux Leather Skater Skirt - Forever 21

Michael Antonio Snake Print Metallic Heels

Neon Yellow Satchel/Clutch - Target

Michael Kors Watch - Gold

Gold Clasp Bracelet

Black & Gold Ring

Black, Gold and Pearl Statement Necklace.

Full Outfit

The Mix of this outfit is so bold and hardcore, that if I wasn't wearing a skirt and heels I could've passed for a cowboy! This shows Me that I'm becoming bolder with My fashion and style. And sometimes you just have to push that envelope...

Although I'm rocking denim, leather and snake skin, I softened the outfit and made it sexy with a sleeveless top, short skirt and heels. Also, every piece of clothing is neutral and allows me to play with the other. Think about it, you can where denim with almost anything, leather with almost anything and animal prints with almost anything as they also serve as a neutral. I accessorized with gold to balance out the metallic in my shoes, with pearls for femininity, and with this neon bag for a pop of color and reminder that its still spring and soon summer!

I hope this look inspires your next outfit! Remember, "always dress to express yourself."

OOTD: Nothing... into Something!

<a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/4987051/?claim=btxgbd2ps8p">Follow my blog with Bloglovin</a>

Hi Beautiful...

Some days I look in my closet, through my drawers, at my shoes and come to the conclusion "I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR!" I'm sure you know what I'm talking about...

When actually we have lots to wear! It's just a matter of putting-it-together!

I personally believe this is how, and when TRUE STYLE comes to be!

So a few days ago I had one of those "I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR" moments, and... well

...here is what I wore:

Purple Crop Blouse

#vintagepiece! I've had this top sooo long I can't even remember where I bought it! However, over the years I've styled this top many different ways to create many different outfits for many different occasions. When shopping, you should always pick up one or two of what I call "essential pieces"-pieces that can stay in your closet for many years but will NEVER get old or go out of style!

Black &  White Abstract Skirt - Forever21.com (2 years ago)

Black Patent & Suede Bertinni Wedges - Shoe Creation (local shoe store)

Black Mogul Bag - JustFab.com

I accessorized this outfit with a tertiary color like turquoise just to offset the purple and bring life into the otherwise dark purple, white and black outfit. The gold remained neutral in the matter blending my accessories, bag buckles and shoe zipper together.

Earrings - Nassau Glamour Girls (local accessories store)
Turquoise Bracelet - Girls will be Girls (Southwest Plaza location - local accessories store)
Gold & Cream Bracelet Set -Avenue 21 (local clothing store)
Gold & Black Ring -Nassau Glamour Girls (local accessories store)

Full Outfit:

In this look I did a lot of the unusual. I mixed colors that wouldn't usually compliment each other, according to the color wheel... purple and turquoise. I mixed prints... my skirt, my bracelet and my earrings. I paired 2 different colors with monotones... black and white.

Fashion is fun! So mix it up a little... or in this case, A LOT! You could also recreate this look with a monotone( maybe black and white) print leggings, with a colored print designed blouse, paired with a black skinny belt and shoes that compliment the color of the blouse.

I hope this look inspires your next outfit! Remember, "always dress to express yourself."

OOTD: Color within the Lines!

Hello Beautiful!

I found a NEW LOVE for dressing up at work!

Wearing my uniform could become a drag, and doesn't really motivate me to get out of bed for an 8 hour shift. But!... Showing up and SHOWING OUT in some colorful trousers, patterned/print tops and platform heels definitely would!

I found myself mixing and matching clothes I've had forever with brand new pieces to create fashionable but work appropriate looks to wear on Tuesdays and Thursday. This day was a Tuesday.

Here's what I wore...

Black Striped Long Sleeve Wrap Blouse

#vintagepiece! A friend of my mom's gave me this top when I was in my preteens. At the time I hated this blouse, not to mention it was too big for me. I never wore it, but luckily for me I didn't throw it away because 10 years later and its the perfect blouse for this outfit.

Blue Creased Ankle Pants - Forever21.com

#trendalert! According to one of my fashion sources, Blue is the on trend color of 2013. I love a Cobalt, Pacific, or Mediterranean Blue! What's your favorite shade of Blue?

Black Patent Platform Pumps - Forever21.com

I accessorized this look with classy gold pieces appropriate for the work place:
Gold Michael Kors Watch
Gold Clasp Bracelet
Gold Collar Necklace
Gold Dimpled Studs

Full Outfit:

Its hard to say which piece of clothing is the statement piece of this outfit. It can be the striped top or the colored bottom. Either way they both compliment each other beautifully! And to add one more element of surprise I played up my face with a bold matte red lip!

This look is about mixing solids with prints or patterns. Which can be a fun play on clothes without getting too fashion forward in the work place. You can also try this same affect with a solid colored cardigan and polka dot skirt, or a pinstripe pants with a solid blazer.

I hope this look inspires your next outfit! Remember, "always dress to express yourself."

OOTD: Cardigans, Cappuccino & Consultation...

Hello...   :)

Last week I met with an internationally known Marketing and Image consultant, Sharell Carroll of SageEden International Media Group. I was anxious to meet with her about ways to develop and promote my fashion and beauty blog/business.

We met at a local Starbucks and discussed creative ideas and the 4 P's of Marketing over cappuccino and pastries!

Here's what I wore...

Olive Green Boxed Dress - United Colors of Benetton
Red Light Weight Cardigan - Avenue 21 (local clothing store)
Cognac Brown Belt

Anne Michelle Safari Open Toe Heels (bought locally)

Brown Gold Studded Bracelet - Nassau Glamour Girls (local accessories store)

Dimpled Gold Stud Earrings - Nassau Glamour Girls (local accessories store)

Full Outfit:

This outfit is an example of how summer pieces can easily transition into fall outfits. This dress is very light and can be worn alone with a big belt and sandals for a boho chic look in the summer, or I could have added stalkings or leggings to this outfit with flats to be warmer in the winter.

I hope this look inspires your next outfit! Remember, "always dress to express yourself."

The DRESS was a SUCCESS!!

Hello Beautiful!

Today one of the few LOVES of My Life graduated High School and I'm so Proud of My LilBig Brother! My family and I cheered, clapped and took a lot of pictures at his ceremony. No doubt he felt the love, support and pride we felt for Him because he stayed focus and graduated high school!

Here's a Pic of Us Together!

Not that I needed a reason to SHOP...lol... but I saw it the perfect opportunity to go out and look for a dress for his graduation ceremony. I ended up buying not one but two dresses that I recently recorded in my first haul video.

See video here --> 1st Mini Haul

However, I went with my first choice! The Floral Tube Top dress!! I considered several factors before I made my final decision. The present fashion season(Spring/Summer), the time of the event(Morning) and the weather condition(Sunny, Humid, and HOT AS HELL)!

Because we're slowly transitioning from Spring into Summer fashion season I opted for the pastel, neutral colors of this dress. Because the event was in the morning I preferred a chic casual but still stylishly dressed outfit. Because the temperature was hot and the air was humid I wanted my clothing to be light-weight with not to much fabric so that I can beat the heat!

Once I had made a decision on which dress to wear I began putting together an outfit...

What I wore:

Clothes:
Floral Tube Top Dress
Avenue XXI
Size S
Price: $60(original) $30(on sale)

Shoes:
Generation Alyssa Gold Sandals (its actually more of a neutral tone)
Shoe Depot
Size 6
Price: -

Accessories:
Pearl, White, and Gold Bead Cluster Ring
Bijoux Terner
Price: $10.00

Sparkle Drop Linear Earrings -Goldtone
Avon
Price: -

My choice of dress was a success today... I was fashionably in season, appropriately dressed, and didn't break a sweat!
