OOTD: Nothing... into Something!

Hi Beautiful...

Some days I look in my closet, through my drawers, at my shoes and come to the conclusion "I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR!" I'm sure you know what I'm talking about...

When actually we have lots to wear! It's just a matter of putting-it-together!

I personally believe this is how, and when TRUE STYLE comes to be!

So a few days ago I had one of those "I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR" moments, and... well

...here is what I wore:

Purple Crop Blouse

#vintagepiece! I've had this top sooo long I can't even remember where I bought it! However, over the years I've styled this top many different ways to create many different outfits for many different occasions. When shopping, you should always pick up one or two of what I call "essential pieces"-pieces that can stay in your closet for many years but will NEVER get old or go out of style!

Black &  White Abstract Skirt - Forever21.com (2 years ago)

Black Patent & Suede Bertinni Wedges - Shoe Creation (local shoe store)

Black Mogul Bag - JustFab.com

I accessorized this outfit with a tertiary color like turquoise just to offset the purple and bring life into the otherwise dark purple, white and black outfit. The gold remained neutral in the matter blending my accessories, bag buckles and shoe zipper together.

Earrings - Nassau Glamour Girls (local accessories store)
Turquoise Bracelet - Girls will be Girls (Southwest Plaza location - local accessories store)
Gold & Cream Bracelet Set -Avenue 21 (local clothing store)
Gold & Black Ring -Nassau Glamour Girls (local accessories store)

Full Outfit:

In this look I did a lot of the unusual. I mixed colors that wouldn't usually compliment each other, according to the color wheel... purple and turquoise. I mixed prints... my skirt, my bracelet and my earrings. I paired 2 different colors with monotones... black and white.

Fashion is fun! So mix it up a little... or in this case, A LOT! You could also recreate this look with a monotone( maybe black and white) print leggings, with a colored print designed blouse, paired with a black skinny belt and shoes that compliment the color of the blouse.

I hope this look inspires your next outfit! Remember, "always dress to express yourself."

OOTD: Cardigans, Cappuccino & Consultation...

Hello...   :)

Last week I met with an internationally known Marketing and Image consultant, Sharell Carroll of SageEden International Media Group. I was anxious to meet with her about ways to develop and promote my fashion and beauty blog/business.

We met at a local Starbucks and discussed creative ideas and the 4 P's of Marketing over cappuccino and pastries!

Here's what I wore...

Olive Green Boxed Dress - United Colors of Benetton
Red Light Weight Cardigan - Avenue 21 (local clothing store)
Cognac Brown Belt

Anne Michelle Safari Open Toe Heels (bought locally)

Brown Gold Studded Bracelet - Nassau Glamour Girls (local accessories store)

Dimpled Gold Stud Earrings - Nassau Glamour Girls (local accessories store)

Full Outfit:

This outfit is an example of how summer pieces can easily transition into fall outfits. This dress is very light and can be worn alone with a big belt and sandals for a boho chic look in the summer, or I could have added stalkings or leggings to this outfit with flats to be warmer in the winter.

I hope this look inspires your next outfit! Remember, "always dress to express yourself."

OOTN: Stripes, Studs & TWILIGHT -:+:-

Hey Beautiful!

Last night (21/11/12) I finally got to watch the most anticipated movie of the year, Twilight: Breaking Dawn 2 and it was GGGOOOOODDD!!

Here's what I wore...

Black Stripe Oversize Button Down Blouse - (Bought Locally)

#confession: When I bought this top, I thought it would be a one time wear. Now i'm finding more and more ways to style this simple blouse.

Colored Jeans/Pants: Green - Swap Shop (2004)

#trendalert! Black Studded Oxford Flats - Urbanog.com

These shoes are a MUST HAVE this Fall/ Winter! Nothing beats comfort and style!

Multi Silver and Black Chain Necklace - Nassau Glamour Girls

Spike Pewter Ring

So there you have it! My 30 minute or less little "get up" last night. I was comfortable but still stylish and casual...not too dressed up for a mid week afternoon movie.
For a more sophisticated look, you could cinch in the blouse at the waist with a black pencil belt and pair the look with black pumps.

I hope this look inspires your next outfit! Remember, "always dress to express yourself."

OOTN: Business Mixer

Last night I attended a networking mixer for female entrepreneurs and I wanted to look stylish, cute... but definitely professional!

So here's what I wore:

Cream Sheer Button Down Blouse - Charolette Russe

Purple Corduroy Blazer - Lorene's (Local Clothing Store in the Bahamas)

I cuffed my sleeves because it was a bit too long... but it doesn't take away from the sophistication of the look!

#trendalert! Distressed Jeans - Forever 21

I cuffed my jeans at the bottom for a tailored but yet casual look.

#trendalert! Black Pumps - Shoe Creation ( Local Shoe Store in the Bahamas)

Pearl and Black Jeweled Statement Necklace

2 Strand Pearl Bracelet

Pearl Cocktail Ring - Bijoux Terner ( Local Accessories Store in the Bahamas)

So there's the makings of my look last night. Pretty simple but still chic and sophisticated! For a more relaxed look, you could also compliment this outfit with leopard flats.

I hope this look inspires your next outfit! Remember, "always dress to express yourself."

The DRESS was a SUCCESS!!

Hello Beautiful!

Today one of the few LOVES of My Life graduated High School and I'm so Proud of My LilBig Brother! My family and I cheered, clapped and took a lot of pictures at his ceremony. No doubt he felt the love, support and pride we felt for Him because he stayed focus and graduated high school!

Here's a Pic of Us Together!

Not that I needed a reason to SHOP...lol... but I saw it the perfect opportunity to go out and look for a dress for his graduation ceremony. I ended up buying not one but two dresses that I recently recorded in my first haul video.

See video here --> 1st Mini Haul

However, I went with my first choice! The Floral Tube Top dress!! I considered several factors before I made my final decision. The present fashion season(Spring/Summer), the time of the event(Morning) and the weather condition(Sunny, Humid, and HOT AS HELL)!

Because we're slowly transitioning from Spring into Summer fashion season I opted for the pastel, neutral colors of this dress. Because the event was in the morning I preferred a chic casual but still stylishly dressed outfit. Because the temperature was hot and the air was humid I wanted my clothing to be light-weight with not to much fabric so that I can beat the heat!

Once I had made a decision on which dress to wear I began putting together an outfit...

What I wore:

Clothes:
Floral Tube Top Dress
Avenue XXI
Size S
Price: $60(original) $30(on sale)

Shoes:
Generation Alyssa Gold Sandals (its actually more of a neutral tone)
Shoe Depot
Size 6
Price: -

Accessories:
Pearl, White, and Gold Bead Cluster Ring
Bijoux Terner
Price: $10.00

Sparkle Drop Linear Earrings -Goldtone
Avon
Price: -

My choice of dress was a success today... I was fashionably in season, appropriately dressed, and didn't break a sweat!
